Student Visa for Singapore: Students must apply for a student pass to enter Singapore after receiving an offer letter from the selected institute to obtain a particular course. Institutions in Singapore will file (register) the Singapore student pass for Indian students with Singapore Immigration and Checkpoint Authority on their behalf (ICA). The Student’s Pass On-Line Application & Registration (SOLAR) system is used to submit applications. New Student’s Pass applications must be submitted at least one month and no more than two months before the start of the course.

Requirements for Application
19 years and below: If you are willing to pursue a full-time program at an approved Private Education Organisation (PEO), the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) will process your application directly.
19 years and above: If you want to study a vocational, language, commercial, or fine arts non-graduate/postgraduate degree course (including University of London (UOL) tuition programmes), the Embassy may require you to attend an interview.

Cost of Visa
Candidates looking to apply for a Singapore Study Visa are required to pay the following visa fee

  • Processing Fee
    Every application filed to ICA requires a processing fee of S$30 (about Rs 1,637). The payment is not refundable. Payment for submission via SOLAR+ will be required via credit/debit card or internet banking.
  • Issuance Fee
    A S$60 (Rs 3,275 approx.) issuance fee is charged on every student’s pass issued and a further S$30 multiple-entry visa fee. The fee is payable when the successful applicant completes the formality to collect the Student’s Pass.

Documents
Following documents will be required for application purposes:

  • Valid passport – Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your period of stay in Singapore.
  • Completed Student Visa Application Forms – ICA form 16 & Form V36
  • Application fee payment receipt, as you are required to pay S$30, which translates roughly to Rs 1,618. An issuance fee of S$60 (Rs 3,236) has to be paid once the Student’s Pass is approved and issued.
  • The offer letter – You need to have an offer of a place from a Singapore institute/university. The forms are usually issued after the tuition fees have been received.
  • Two passport-sized photographs (if applicable)
  • Bank Statements – Funds to be shown = Tuition fee + 8400 S$
  • Fixed Deposit Receipts (if necessary)
  • Bank loan sanction letter (if necessary)
  • Transcripts, diplomas, degrees, or certificates from schools you attended
  • Test scores that your college required, such as the TOEFL, GRE, or GMAT
  • How you will pay for all educational, living and travel costs

Note:

It’s possible that more documentation will be needed. The interviewer may ask for more documents during the personal interview. This could be proof of academic or financial status documents.

How to apply

The deadline for new Student’s Pass applications is one month prior to the start of the course. The Student’s Pass On-Line Application & Registration (SOLAR) system must be used to submit applications.

  1. Registration of Application by an Institute of Higher Learning (IHL)

Before the foreign student submits an application for Student’s Pass-through SOLAR, the college must first register the student through SOLAR with the following information:

  • Name, date of birth, gender and nationality of the student
  • Course details, course commencement, and course end dates
  • SOLAR application reference number
  1. Submission of eForm 16 by Student 

Once the college has successfully registered the student, the student may log in to SOLAR to submit eForm 16. Applicants must have the following information before logging into SOLAR:

  • A registration acknowledgement notice with the login information provided by the college
  • Passport details (passport number, date of expiry, etc.)
  • Singapore’s address and contact details (if not available, provide the school’s registered address)
  • Applicant’s email address.
  • One recent passport-sized colour photograph

Students must print a copy of the eForm 16 after submitting it through SOLAR in order to submit it to the Student’s Pass Unit, ICA, to complete the necessary documentation for the issuing of a Student’s Pass.

Dependents

The university may support a Social Visit Pass so that a spouse and children of graduate research students who are enrolled full-time to stay in Singapore. The graduate students ought to instruct their partners and kids to seek for entry visas at the Singaporean embassy. The spouse and kids will receive a 4-week Social Visit Permit at the airport when they arrive in Singapore.

Additional Information

Up to 16 hours per week can be spent working part-time. In order to work full-time without any visa restrictions during the holidays, no work permit is necessary.
